If Thracia 776 is "too hard" for any combination of the above reasons except same turn reinforcements, unironically get good. if same turn reinforcements weren't in Thracia 776 it would be much easier for first/second time players.

you've no way to plan for them unless the game tells you that they're coming. same turn reinforcements are unfair objectively speaking. it's also the only issue I have with the game. "reinforcements move the turn they show up." also known as "same turn reinforcements", this is absolutely the only reason that someone has given me for why Thracia 776 is " unfair" that has any fact behind it at all. the game gives you torches for a reason, use them. "fog of war." this is also used as as criticism against any srpg with fog of war. if this is really one of the reasons someone thinks Thracia 776 is difficult, they've no concept of how Fire Emblem stats work. "the stats cap at 20 so your units are always weak." the enemies suffer from this too. if you've played Thracia 776 you know why. the game could tell you that this will happen before you escape with Leif first but it still isn't a big deal. this isn't a big deal and if it is for someone, their strategy is flawed. "escaping with the Lord first takes away the rest of your army." Leif isn't Roy he can take a hit or two while your other units escape. 100% hit rate is a bad thing imo, because if you know your attacks will always hit you need to put no thought into the consequences of the attack(for example, counter attacks or the enemy healing).

this is not a bad thing from a gameplay perspective because not only is it realistic, it forces you to think about the consequences of any attack missing. "99 hit rate cap." people seem to think 99 hit rate isn't enough because there's a chance your attack will miss. people make a big deal out of staff misses, just like the 99 hit rate cap, when in reality it's not a big deal. "staff misses." staff misses are so rare and infrequent that they're not worth worrying about.
